Spamdex
Abbreviation for "Spam Indexing"
The practise of submitting large numbers of
doorways and/or irrelevant pages into
search engines.
Historically, this practise has been used by some sites to increase
traffic. However, as it makes the search
results less useful for most users, most search engines now consider
this a form of abuse, and include systems or procedures to
prevent spamdexing, or to penalize web sites using this practise.
